Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 History
Bajaj launched the Pulsar RS 200, AS150, and AS200 in April 2015, where ‘RS’ represented ‘Race Sport,’ while ‘AS’ represented ‘Adventure Sport.’ The RS 200 is Bajaj’s first attempt at a fully made motorcycle, whereas the AS series featured semi-fairing with common projector headlamps. The AS200 has the same 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that, with the exception of fuel injection, also drives the RS 200.
This engine, built on a 6-speed transmission, churns out a maximum power output of 23.17 PS at 9,500rpm along with a peak torque of 18.3 Nm at 8,000rpm. Although the AS 200 is based on the 200 NS model, instead of the traditional Pulsar 150 Dtsi the AS150 is installed on a new perimeter frame. The motorcycle derives its power from an air-cooled 149.5cc, single-cylinder engine, which, coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, produces 16.8bhp at 9,000rpm and 13Nm at 7,500rpm. The Pulsar RS 200 produces a marginally higher power output at 24.5PS, which peaks at 9,750rpm and 18.6 Nm torque at 8000 rpm (compared to the AS200) thanks to its fuel injection
